Many couples reach out after months—or even years—of trying to solve the problem on their own. By the time they contact me, they are often exhausted from having the same painful conversations and unsure how to move forward.
Couples therapy is an investment in your relationship and in understanding the patterns that keep you stuck. My goal is to provide focused, thoughtful support that helps you move beyond recurring conflict, strengthen connection, and create lasting change.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by insurance plan.
If you plan to seek reimbursement, ask your insurance company whether they cover Z63.0 (relationship distress) and CPT code 90847 (family therapy with the patient present).
-
It depends on your situation and goals. Most couples begin with weekly sessions and start by focusing on understanding the patterns that keep them stuck. As progress is made, some couples choose to transition to less frequent appointments.
-
Yes. Many couples seek therapy after an affair, betrayal, or significant breach of trust. Therapy can help partners make sense of what happened, process the impact of the betrayal, rebuild trust when appropriate, and determine how they want to move forward.
-
That is very common. In many relationships, one partner is ready to begin therapy while the other is feeling hesitant, skeptical, or unsure whether it will help.
You do not need to be fully convinced that therapy will work in order to begin. What is most important is a willingness to participate in the process and explore what is happening in the relationship. Often, as we begin to better understand the patterns underneath the conflict, both partners gain greater clarity about what they want and what is possible moving forward.
-
I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to the full session fee.
-
Sometimes. While couples therapy primarily involves meeting together, there are situations where individual sessions may be helpful. If I believe individual meetings would benefit the treatment process, we can discuss that together.
-
I work with heterosexual couples, LGBTQ+ couples and nonbinary or gender nonconforming people and relationships. Although sex therapy is not my specialty, I do help couples with their sex life and am sex positive and kink friendly.
I do not provide co-parenting therapy or divorce counseling. If a couple decides to move forward with separation or divorce, I am happy to provide referrals to therapists who specialize in that work.
