Renata Creech, LPC providing couples therapy for conflict, disconnection, and relationship stress in Virginia

Hi, I’m Renata.

I work with couples experiencing recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, betrayal, and relationship crisis. Many of the couples I see feel emotionally exhausted from repeating the same arguments, shutting down, or no longer knowing how to reach each other.

I am active in sessions and help couples slow down patterns that typically turn into escalation, defensiveness, shutdown, or emotional distance. My approach is structured and collaborative, while making room for honesty and humor.

I love helping couples put together the pieces of a puzzle that often doesn't make sense when they're in the middle of it. Together, we work to understand what is happening underneath the conflict and why the same painful conversations keep repeating themselves. Part of my role is to create enough structure and emotional safety so partners can better understand each other and begin interacting in new ways.

Both personally and professionally, I understand that relationships and families can be complicated and shaped by grief, change, repair, and new beginnings. That perspective informs the way I sit with couples during difficult moments in their relationship.
